Job Summary

The Bindery & Envelope Converter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring bindery and envelope converting equipment to produce high-quality finished print products in accordance with job specifications. This position supports second-shift production by ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Set up, operate, and monitor bindery and envelope converting equipment to meet production requirements
  • Perform finishing operations including folding, cutting, gluing, collating, inserting, and trimming
  • Operate envelope converting machines to produce envelopes according to job tickets and specifications
  • Read, interpret, and follow job tickets, work orders, and production schedules
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency throughout production runs
  • Make routine machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate production counts and complete all required production documentation
  • Load raw materials and assist with the handling, staging, and movement of finished goods
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards
  • Communicate equipment issues, material concerns, or quality problems promptly to supervisors

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in bindery, printing, or envelope converting preferred
  • Experience operating industrial finishing or converting equipment is a plus
  • Ability to read measurements, job tickets, and production documentation accurately
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift
  • Strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and workplace safety
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a production team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and manual material handling required

GHP Media is seeking a Bindery Machine Helper. In this role, you would aid in the production of materials in the bindery by staging and moving materials and generally help machine operators throughout the bindery. Additionally, the Bindery Machine Helper performs any bindery tasks which cannot be performed by machine and must be performed by hand. This includes catching, collating, drilling, shrink wrapping or hand feeding a machine.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Read and understand the job ticket
  • Understand customer quality requirements
  • Follow Company safety rules and procedures
  • Ability to jog and prepare paper & stacking printing prior to and after bindery processing
  • Accurate hand collating
  • Accurate hand product insertion
  • Keep product organized
  • Shrink wrapping product
  • Catch off folders, help load machine pockets and keep binding machines running by off-loading product

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Manual dexterity and patience in performing repetitive tasks
  • Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

GHP Media is seeking a 2nd Pressman to join our team. As a 2nd pressman, you are expected to assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of commercial sheet-fed printing presses.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Must work loading paper into machine
  • Assist in cleaning the press using appropriate chemicals
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Follow Company safety rules and procedures

  • Open and manage jobs using Job Ticket software, distributing job tickets as needed.
  • Collaborate with the plant scheduler to assign timelines that meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with department managers and sales staff to coordinate production priorities and adjust schedules for deadline changes.
  • Serve as a critical contributor to operational excellence by supporting various company functions.
  • Maintain effective communication with production teams, accounting, and leadership to align company goals with customer expectations.
  • Follow and enforce company systems and procedures to uphold high standards of service and quality.

Job Summary
The GHP Sheet Fed Pressman is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of commercial sheet-fed printing presses. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced printing environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Set up, run, and maintain a commercial sheet-fed printing press
  • Work with various inks and aqueous coatings following proper procedures
  • Review and follow job ticket instructions, including quantity, stock, special inks, and colors
  • Hang printing plates, check layout and imposition to ensure the job can be finished/bound correctly
  • Maintain proper ink and water balance, utilizing scanning densitometers for quality control
  • Monitor running jobs for imperfections such as hickeys, dry-ups, misregistration, color changes, and plate defects
  • Perform necessary mechanical repairs and adjustments, including setting and changing rollers and blankets
  • Operate feeder and delivery systems, and perform routine press maintenance
  • Use appropriate chemicals to clean the press, maintaining a clean and orderly workspace
  • Collaborate with the second pressman/operator to assist as needed
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for an 8-hour shift
